About
The step between having a survey question and getting a licensed surveyor to answer it.
Springfield Land Surveyor is a referral service. We are not a surveying firm, we hold no Missouri land surveying license or corporate certificate of authority, and we do not perform survey work. What we do is explain the subject properly and route inquiries to Missouri-licensed Professional Land Surveyors.
Surveying is one of those trades where the customer usually does not know what they are buying. People call asking for "a survey" without knowing there are seven different products at very different prices, and the wrong one is expensive in both directions.
On top of that, southwest Missouri has genuine local complications that generic surveying content never covers. Karst and sinkhole setbacks. A state survey repository run out of the Department of Agriculture that almost nobody finds. Rural metes and bounds descriptions written off fence lines two generations ago.
So the pages here answer the questions people actually have. Whether you contact us afterward is up to you.
Where we cite a figure, we say where it came from. Cost ranges are marked as orientation rather than quotes. Where local ordinances are involved, we say to verify current requirements with the jurisdiction, because those change and this page will not.
The editorial and sources policy sets out the rest.
See how this works for what happens when you send an inquiry.
